こんにちは。またまた前回の続きです。
弊社は社名に「映像デザイン事務所」という言葉が入っています。
前回までは「映像」の部分にフォーカスして書かせていただきました。
今回は「デザイン」の部分について、少しお伝えできればと思います。
突然ですが皆様は「デザイナー」と言うとどんなイメージをお持ちでしょうか。
洋服やグラフィックが一般的なのかな、と思います。
弊社は、私が主に映像の領域でクリエイティブに関わってきたこともあり、
CGやアニメーション、モーショングラフィックなどに強みがあります。
また、そこから派生してタイトルデザイン、ロゴ制作なども多く手掛けて来ました。
個人的には特にロゴやビジュアルアイデンティティを制作するプロセスが好きです。
お客様（ときどき単にともだちだったりする）の思いに耳を傾ける時間が好きですし、
心を傾けて、話を聞いていると、思いもしなかった展開が見えたり、本当に望んでいることが何なのか、
どんな形でどんな色なのか、最初の話とはかけ離れていくことがあります。
そういうのは本当に面白いです。
たぶん人は、他人の手を借りなければ、自分の（本当の）思いに気づくことすらできないんじゃないかと、
そういう大それたことを考えたりします。
少し脱線しましたが、私は映像ディレクターであると同時にデザイナーでもあるので、
弊社は「映像デザイン事務所」ということになっています。
二つの領域にまたがってする仕事と、映像なら映像、デザインならデザイン、という形で、
限定的に関わる仕事の両方があります。
最近では少しづつですが、ブランディングデザインやコミュニケーションデザインの開発もご相談いただいていますので、
WEBサイトやオウンドメディア(ユーチューブなど)の運用を含めてご提案、制作することも増えてまいりました。
デザイナーといえば洋服のデザイナーやグラフィックデザイナーがわかりやすく、
「映像デザイン」は多少風変わりな言葉かもしれませんが、
あえていうなら自分は「映像デザイナー」なのかな、と感じている今日この頃です。
