九月になりました。
お隣の富山県の八尾（やつお）町では今日から三日間おわら風の盆が開催されます。
コロナ禍を受けて三年ぶりの開催ということですが、このお祭りは北陸・富山を代表するお祭りで、秋の風物詩と言っても過言ではないくらい魅力的なものです。
八尾町は蚕や和紙で栄えた古い街で、歩くと坂が多く、どことなく金沢を思わせます。
商いの町らしく見事な町屋が多いので景観そのものも魅力的ですし、おそらく宿場町としても機能していたのではないかと思われます。
日本各地に伝統的なお祭りがあり、その土地その土地の文化を保存する役割を担っていると思いますが、八尾町のおわらは格別です。
会期中は八尾町の広い範囲で同時に様々な踊りが見られるのですが、どれも品があり哀切で、非常に詩的で洗練されています。
しばしば三味線や胡弓、唄と共に流すように踊られ、町ごとに違うのでとても見応えがあります。
まだ例年通りの規模とはいかないようですが、少しずつ日常が戻りつつあることは幸せですね。
